Hypnotherapy isn’t like what you see in the movies – a person swinging a pocket watch in front of your face telling you you’re feeling sleepy. In actuality, hypnotherapy is a combination of techniques, including guided imagery and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), a form of Meridian Tapping.

How Do I know If Hypnotherapy is Right For Me?

You're Motivated to Make a Change

An important aspect of the success of hypnotherapy is a client’s motivation for positive change. If you are motivated and willing to work towards your goal with the guidance of your hypnotherapist, then hypnotherapy has every chance of working for you. Hypnosis is not appropriate for a person who has psychotic symptoms, such as hallucinations and delusions, or for someone who is actively abusing drugs or alcohol. If a person is “clean” and working a program, then hypnosis can be very effective. Hypnosis should be used for pain control only after a doctor has performed a thorough evaluation for any physical disorder that might require medical or surgical treatment.

You're Open to Hypnotherapy

It’s important that you are fully open to experiencing hypnotherapy in order for it to work. You must be willing to accept that your system does in fact have the power to heal itself in order for it to do so.

You're Not Expecting Miracles

While hypnotherapy often works quickly compared to other types of complimentary or alternative forms of therapy, it is not a magic wand and you should not expect to see overnight results.

You're Willing to Work Beyond Our Sessions

The goal of hypnotherapy is to provided you with the tools and techniques necessary to maintain relaxation in between sessions and beyond.
